Sarah Barron joined the law firm of Pearson, Christensen, Cahill & Clapp, PLLP, in June 2005. Ms. Barron earned a B.A. in Literature from Antioch College in 1975, a Ph.D. in English Literature from The Ohio State University in 1982, and a J.D. from Cleveland Marshall College of Law in 1995. Ms. Barron was a visiting student at the UND School of Law in 1994-1995. Since graduating from law school, she has worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Russell Anderson, as an Assistant Polk County Attorney, as a Clinical Instructor in the Legal Aid Association at the UND School of Law, as a staff attorney for the Northeast Central Judicial District, and as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Clinical Education Program at the UND School of Law. Before attending law school, Ms. Barron taught English at Illinois State, Ohio State, and Cleveland State Universities.
Ms. Barron is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar Association of North Dakota, the Minnesota State Bar Association, the Greater Grand Forks County Bar Association, and the Randy H. Lee Chapter of the American Inns of Court. She currently serves as Greater Grand Forks County Bar Association Representative to the Grand Forks County District Court Case-Flow Committee, Secretary Treasurer of the Randy H. Lee Chapter of the American Inn of Court, and as a member of the Inquiry Committee Northeast of the State Bar Association of North Dakota. She is a former member and officer of the Board of Directors of the Greater Grand Forks Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Barron is married and has two adult children. Ms. Barron’s husband, John Madden, is Chair of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of North Dakota.
